1 dead, 5 hurt in crash near Kahe plant
One woman was killed and five other people injured Sunday night in a three-car crash on Farrington Highway near the Kahe Power Plant.
The crash, which occurred around 8:20 p.m., involved a van, a sport utility vehicle and a sedan, according to Hawaii Fire Department spokesman Capt. Carlton Yamada.
The woman who died at the scene is believed to have been in her 30s; the injured include a man in his 20s, a female toddler and three women believed to be in their 20s and 30s, Yamada said. No other details were available.
Assault victim in critical condition
Honolulu police are investigating an assault in Kalihi on Sunday morning that sent a 55- to 65-year-old man to the hospital in critical condition.
The Emergency Medical Services Department said paramedics responded to the intersection of Dillingham Boulevard and Kalihi Street at about 4:49 a.m. and took the man to a trauma center. A witness told paramedics that the suspect fled the scene.
Teenage boy beaten with baseball bat
Paramedics took a 16-year-old boy to the hospital in serious condition after a baseball bat assault in Kalihi Valley.
The Department of Emergency Services said paramedics responded to the scene at about 9:40 p.m. Saturday. The boy apparently was beaten by a male. Police are investigating the incident on Kamehameha IV Road.
Mo-ped rider hurt in collision with truck
A 17-year-old boy was left in serious condition Sunday after the mo-ped he was operating collided with a delivery truck in Kapolei.
The collision occurred at 6:10 p.m. in front of 92-1121 Panana St. Paramedics transported the rider to a hospital.
