Ko Olina truck blaze was deliberately set
Honolulu police have opened an arson case after a man’s pickup truck was found on fire in West Oahu on Monday morning.
The truck’s owner, 49, reported finding his work truck on fire at 5:27 a.m. at Ko Olina, police said.
Fire officials determined the blaze was deliberately set, police said.
Man arrested in alleged assault of relative
A Makaha man, 30, was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and abuse of a family member after attacking a relative after a Super Bowl party in Waianae on Sunday evening.
Police said the man and a woman, also 30, both began to leave a party in Waianae at about 7:15 p.m. Sunday when the man assaulted the woman and forced her into her vehicle.
The man, of a Hana Street address, was arrested Monday morning shortly before 8 a.m.
2 suspects are wanted in Waikiki robbery
Police are looking for two men who allegedly forced a man to lie face down on a beach in Waikiki early Sunday morning before taking his wallet.
Police said the 23-year-old victim was sitting on the beach at 6 a.m. when two men approached him and ordered him to lie face down after threatening him with a gun.

Visitor killed in fall on Maui is identified
The Colorado man who fell off a cliff and died while hiking on Maui has been identified as Lynn Wyatt Huff, 60, of Boulder.
He fell Saturday while walking on the Waihou Spring Trail in the Waihou Spring Forest Reserve.
The Maui Police Department said in a news release Monday that officers were called to the scene and hiked about a mile on the trail toward the springs, where they met up with Huff’s wife, who showed them where her husband had fallen. Officers then hiked about an extra half-mile to the riverbed at the bottom of a ravine, where they found Huff’s body. Fire and emergency medical personnel also responded.
Police said it appears he fell about 20 to 25 feet and might have sustained head injuries. Police said it had rained throughout last week and that the ground was saturated.
Firefighters stop searching for missing man
Hawaii County firefighters have ended their search for a 42-year-old Kealakekua man who is believed to have gone diving at a location called Two Step near Pu‘uhonua o Honaunau National Historic Park on Wednesday.
Jeremiah Nathan was last seen in the area of the park at about 4 p.m. His unlocked truck was found nearby with keys, wallet and cellphone.
Hawaii County fire crews resumed an ocean search for Nathan on Sunday with surface and dive operations one mile north and south of Nathan’s possible last known location. A search was also done on land and by air.
The search, terminated at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, yielded no trace of the missing man.
