Man dies of injuries sustained in fall
The 55-year-old man who fell from a scaffolding structure in Makiki on Friday has died.
The Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as Can Yang of Honolulu.
According to Emergency Medical Services, Yang fell about 30 feet off the scaffolding at an apartment building around 10:45 a.m.
Yang was transported in serious condition to the Queen’s Medical Center, where he died early Saturday.
Fugitive arrested 22 years after crime
U.S. marshals in Hawaii arrested on Thursday a British fugitive who had eluded capture for 22 years.
Salvador Orozco, 48, was wanted by British authorities for allegedly attacking and raping a woman at a bus station in England in 1990. The U.S. Marshals Service said Orozco fled to the United States after the incident.
Last July, British Embassy officials asked the U.S. Justice Department for assistance in locating, arresting and extraditing Orozco.
On Thursday, the U.S. Marshals Hawaii Fugitive Task Force arrested Orozco without incident at a Puunene Avenue address in Kahului.
Driver seriously hurt in collision, rollover
An 18-year-old man was seriously injured Friday when the car he was driving hit another car and overturned on Puhala Rise in Manoa.
According to Emergency Medical Services, the second car was attempting to park when it was struck about 5:15 p.m.
The driver of the first car was taken in serious condition to a local trauma center.
