A 30-year-old Waianae man is in police custody for allegedly shooting at a woman while she was sitting a car last month.

Paraglider is injured in Makapuu landing
Firefighters who were at Makapuu for a possible hazardous materials case Tuesday were on hand to treat a paraglider injured during a hard landing nearby.
At about 6:45 p.m., the paraglider, a mainland visitor in his 30s, was trying to land in an unimproved lot on the Waimanalo side of Makapuu, but ended up landing hard at the top of the beach, hitting a rock, Fire Capt. Terry Seelig said.
Firefighters treated him for a leg injury and carried him to the parking lot where an ambulance picked him up and took him to a hospital.
The man was in stable condition but unable to walk, Seelig said.
Winds were stiff and gusty, he said, and the man was unfamiliar with the area, exceeded his abilities and came in a little too fast and from the wrong location.
Firefighters had been responding to a 4:50 p.m. call for a 55-gallon blue polypropylene drum that had washed ashore at Makapuu Beach.
Fire personnel conferred with the Coast Guard and the state Health Department and determined it did not appear to be hazardous. The drum will be removed today.

Police said the motorist, 28, was driving in Pearl City at 1:40 p.m. when he was confronted by the suspect, who left his car and challenged him to a fight. The suspect then took a wooden club and struck the window of the motorist’s car with the club, shattering the glass on the driver’s side.
The suspect fled but was later arrested at a Waipahu Street address on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening and first-degree criminal property damage.
