Annual garage sale to offer trove of goodies
World Wings International’s annual "Not Your Ordinary Garage Sale" will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the McKinley High School cafeteria (enter from Pensacola Street).
World Wings is a philanthropic organization of former Pan Am flight attendants. Each chapter supports CARE, an international charity, and a local nonprofit organization — in this case, St. Francis Hospice.
Bargain hunters will find international boutique items, antiques, Pan Am memorabilia, clothing and accessories, household items, books, CDs, DVDs, collectibles, toys, jewelry and more. The sale takes cash only.
Bodyboarding’s best will gather at Windward Mall
More than two dozen top-ranked bodyboarding pros will greet fans at T&C Surf’s "Go Big!" event from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Windward Mall.
The free celebration will serve as the official kickoff for the IBA GoPro Pipe Challenge. Fans may mingle with the pros, and there will be giveaways of bodyboarding gear and games such as "Stack the Wax" and "Towel Changing."
Scheduled to attend are three-time world champion Jeff Hubbard, former world champion Mike Stewart, Mitch Rawlins, Michael Novy and other top competitors.
