Police have in custody a 36-year-old man suspected of assaulting and killing a man in Kalihi in January.
The assault allegedly occurred Jan. 20 in Kalihi on King Street. The 27-year-old victim was taken to the hospital with head injuries. Police said he died Feb. 18.

Police have not released a motive for the crime.
The suspect was arrested Sunday afternoon in Waipahu on suspicion of second-degree murder.
Woman who died in motorcycle crash ID’d
The medical examiner’s office has identified the 32-year-old motorcyclist who died Sunday in Makiki as Helen Hites.
She was taken in "extremely critical condition" to the hospital following the 1 p.m. collision on Thurston Avenue.
Police said the woman was heading east with a group of at least three other motorcyclists when a black Dodge Charger, an off-duty taxicab, turned left in front of her. Police said a hill creates a blind spot on that part of the street.
The driver of the Dodge had minor injuries from broken glass but refused treatment.
