UH in seventh at Thompson Invitational
Ka‘ili Britos fired a 1-over 145 in the first two rounds of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, helping the University of Hawaii finish Tuesday’s play at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course in seventh place.
Britos shot a 74 in the first round and a 71 in the second for a three-way tie for fifth place, four strokes behind leader Manon Gidali of Arizona.
The Rainbow Wahine shot 611 on the first day, while the first-place Wildcats carded a 582.
The final round is today.
BYUH softball drops 2 to Cal Baptist
The Brigham Young-Hawaii softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader against Cal Baptist on Tuesday in Laie, losing 12-2 in five innings in the first game and 5-1 in the second.
The Seasiders fell to 5-17 overall and 2-4 in Pacific West Conference play. The Lancers improved to 13-8 and 7-5.
» In a softball doubleheader at Okita Field in Kaneohe, Dixie State swept Hawaii Pacific, 4-2 and 3-2.
The Sea Warriors dropped to 8-9 overall and 1-6 in the PacWest. The Red Storm improved to 14-8 and 5-4.
