The officer, 41, who was taken to the hospital, treated and released, was responding to a trespass complaint at 1114 Wilder Ave.
When he and other officers got to the scene at 6 a.m., they confirmed with the property manager that the 52-year-old man was trespassing. During the arrest, the suspect bit the officer’s finger. The suspect was arrested for assault and trespassing.
A police spokeswoman refused to disclose further details on the officer’s condition, citing medical privacy.
