Kaiser to remain in OIA White
Kaiser’s up-and-coming football squad will remain in the OIA’s White Conference (Division II) this fall.
League football coordinator Harold Tanaka confirmed the decision Monday. Kaiser coach Rich Miano had hoped his program would move up to the Red Conference (D-I) to replace another school, but no change was made by administrators.
Briscoe family has a big night
It was a family highlight reel for the Briscoe family on Saturday at the Ruby Tuesday Invitational.
Junior Diamond Briscoe of Pearl City won the girls 400-meter race in 56.75 seconds and later won the 200 sprint in 25.73, edging Raion Black of Christian Academy (26.00).
Briscoe’s older brother, senior Daicorri Briscoe, won the long jump (21 feet, 2.25 inches).
ILH says Maryknoll is the winner
A softball game between Maryknoll and WestPac last week that ended with a dispute between coaches and umpires has been ruled officially over.
Maryknoll led 4-0 at the time the game was suspended (fifth inning), and that score has been made final, according to the ILH.
Big scores in BIIF softball
The BIIF continues to rack up the most high-scoring softball games in the state.
The latest? Kamehameha-Hawaii and Kohala combined for 30 runs, 32 hits and 10 errors in the visiting Warriors’ 17-13 win on Saturday.
