>> Kalei Contrades, Saint Louis ’11: The San Jose State pitcher earned his first save of the year, retiring all three batters he faced, striking out one, in a 3-1 win over California last Wednesday.
>> Kolten Yamaguchi, Konawaena ’11: The Pepperdine sophomore hit .583 (7-for-12) with a double, two walks, three runs and three RBIs in a three-game sweep of Santa Clara over the weekend.
>> Kewby Meyer, Kamehameha ’11: The Nevada first baseman went 5-for-14 with three runs scored as the Wolf Pack lost two of three against New Mexico over the weekend.
>> Justin Protacio, Mid-Pacific ’11: The Kansas second baseman had a career-high four hits with a double, two runs and an RBI in a 15-4 win over Brigham Young on Thursday.
>> Michael Suiter, Punahou ’11: The Kansas outfielder hit .333 (4-for-12) with a double and two RBIs as the Jayhawks lost two of three against BYU.
>> Kaiana Eldredge, Punahou ’10: The Kansas catcher had three hits and three walks and scored twice against BYU.
>> J.R. Bunda, ‘Iolani ’09: The Portland right-hander retired all three batters he faced in the ninth inning of a 5-1 win over San Francisco on Saturday.

>> Kaulana Smith, Kamehameha ’11: The Puget Sound third baseman hit .500 (6-for-12) with two doubles, two runs and three RBIs in a three-game sweep of Pacific Lutheran over the weekend.
>> Rob Dittrick, Mid-Pacific ’09: The Pacific (Ore.) senior right-hander gave up six hits in eight shutout innings with no walks and six strikeouts in a 5-0 win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the series opener on Saturday.
>> Brett Watanabe, ‘Iolani ’10: The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps junior went 3-for-5 with a home run and six RBIs in a 7-0 win over Pacific (Ore.) in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday.
>> Jensen Park, ‘Iolani ’11: The Northern Colorado sophomore outfielder hit .400 (4-for-10) with two doubles, four runs, four RBIs and a stolen base in a two-game sweep of Nebraska-Omaha last week.
>> Ryan Yamane, Punahou ’11: The Northern Colorado middle infielder went 4-for-8 with a double, three runs and an RBI against Nebraska-Omaha.
>> Josh Wong, Kamehameha ’09: The Western Oregon first baseman hit .583 (7-for-12) with a double, two runs, an RBI and a stolen base in a four-game sweep of St. Martin’s (Wash.) over the weekend.
>> Travis Shaw, Saint Louis ’11: The St. Martin’s (Wash.) sophomore went 4-for-12 with a double, two walks and four runs in a series against Western Oregon.
Women’s basketball
>> Iwalani Rodrigues, Kalani ’08: The Utah senior shot 3-for-7 from the field and finished with seven points, three rebounds, three assists and three blocks in all 40 minutes of a 61-50 win over San Diego in the second round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament on Monday. Rodrigues had 10 points, four rebounds and four assists in a 56-49 first-round win over Long Beach State last Wednesday. Utah will play at Pacific at 4 p.m. Hawaii time on Thursday in the third round.
Women’s gymnastics
>> Kahoku Palafox, Maryknoll ’08: The Arizona State graduate student earned a 9.90 (eighth-place tie) on the uneven bars and a 9.725 (33rd) on the beam in Saturday’s Pac-12 championships, as ASU finished in eighth place out of eight.
>> Randi Lau, Myron B. Thompson Academy ’11): The Louisiana State sophomore earned a 9.85 (14th-place tie) on the vault in Saturday’s SEC championship, helping LSU take third place out of eight teams.
>> Tiana Montell, St. Joseph ’11: The University of California at Davis sophomore earned a 9.725 on the vault (11th place), a 9.525 on the uneven bars (18th) and a 9.550 on the beam (12th) in Saturday’s MPSF championship, helping the Aggies take first place.
>> Keolamau Yee, Punahou ’10: The University of Pennsylvania junior earned a season-high 9.775 (seventh place) on the beam, helping the Quakers win back-to-back ECAC titles for the first time at Saturday’s championship in Ithaca, N.Y.
>> Mackenzie Sato, ‘Iolani ’10:
The Cornell junior scored a 9.625 on the floor (23rd place) in Saturday’s ECAC championships as Cornell finished second out of six teams.
Softball
>> Katie Manuma, Campbell ’10: The Brigham Young junior had a career-high nine-game hitting streak snapped, but pitched in three of BYU’s four wins against San Diego over the weekend. Manuma earned her first victory with 32⁄3 innings of two-hit ball in a 5-0 win on Saturday. She also recorded two saves and finished the series throwing 61⁄3 shutout innings. She also had two doubles, two runs and two RBIs at the plate.
>> Courtney Senas, Mililani ’10: The Florida State third baseman went 4-for-9 with a triple, two homers, three walks, four runs and five RBIs to help the Seminoles take two of three against North Carolina over the weekend.
>> Kimberlee Souza, ‘Iolani ’11: The Washington third baseman hit two homers and drove in four runs in a 7-1 win over Arizona on Friday and finished 3-for-11 with three runs scored as the Huskies took two of three to win their first-ever series in Tuscon, Ariz.
>> Tehani Kaaihue, Kapolei ’09: The New Mexico State senior hit a solo homer and finished with two walks, two runs and two RBIs in a doubleheader sweep of Siena College on Monday.
>> Brittany Hawn, Castle ’12: The Stetson (Fla.) University third baseman went 2-for-7 with three walks and three runs scored as the Hatters lost two of three against Mercer over the weekend.
>> Kori Nishitomi, Maryknoll ’11: The Longwood (Fla.) outfielder went 6-for-9 with two doubles, three walks, six runs, three stolen bases and two RBIs in a three-game sweep of Gardner-Webb over the weekend.
>> Glanelle Nitta, Mililani ’09: The Pacific Lutheran senior homered, scored twice and drove in two runs in a doubleheader sweep of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Monday.
>> Angie Yoshizu, University ’10: The Bloomfield (N.J.) College shortstop went 3-for-7 with two runs and five stolen bases in a doubleheader split against Goldey-Beacom on Saturday.
Men’s track and field
>> Dawson Vorderbruegge, Kaiser ’08: The Cal State Stanislaus senior was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association men’s outdoor track and field athlete of the week on Tuesday. Vorderbruegge took first place in the 1,500-meter run at the Johnny Mathis Invitational with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 3:50.60.
Women’s track and field
>> Courtney Honda, Kamehameha ’09: The Whittier (Calif.) senior finished third in the 400-meter dash (1:01.65) and tied for seventh in the 200-meter dash (26.88) in a quad meet on Saturday against Cal Lutheran, Redlands and La Verne.
>> Sheyenne Machida, Maui ’10: The Cal Lutheran junior finished sixth in the pole vault, clearing 2.90 meters in a quad meet against Redlands, La Verne and Whittier (Calif.).
Men’s volleyball
>> Kai Bernier-Chen, Hawaii Prep ’12: The Bard (N.Y.) College outside hitter tallied 12 kills and three digs in a sweep over Purchase College and a three-set loss to the City College of New York on Saturday.
>> Jaylen Reyes, Kamehameha ’11: The BYU libero racked up 11 digs in three-set sweeps over Cal State Northridge on Friday and Long Beach State on Saturday.
>> Taylor Crabb, Punahou ’10: The Long Beach State outside hitter put away 11 kills and four digs in the loss. He also recorded 20 kills, five digs and two aces in a five-set win over Cal Baptist on Thursday.
>> Micah Christenson, Kamehameha ’11: The Southern California setter posted 42 assists, five aces and five digs in a four-set upset over Pepperdine on Thursday.
>> Henry Cassiday, Punahou ’10: The USC libero picked up six digs in the win over Pepperdine.
>> Josh Taylor, Punahou ’11: The Pepperdine outside hitter posted 12 kills, six digs and an ace in the loss to USC.
>> Chad Barretta, Hawaii Baptist ’12: The Concordia-Irvine outside hitter registered six kills and three digs in a pair of four-set wins over Emmanuel College and Hope International (Calif.) on Saturday.
>> Jared Shirai, Kaimuki ’01: The Hope International (Calif.) libero tallied seven digs in the loss to Concordia and 12 digs in a four-set loss to Warner University on Saturday.
He was also named the MAMVIC National Conference Defensive Player of the Year on Saturday.
>> Matt Heirakuji, Kamehameha ’11: The Hope International (Calif.) defensive specialist recorded seven digs and an assist in the loss to Warner.
Men’s wrestling
>> David Terao, Mid-Pacific ’11: The American University freshman lost both of his matches at 125 pounds at the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, over the weekend. Terao finished the year 28-16.
