UHH earns baseball split with Dixie State
Samuel Kim, Tyler Nitahara and Steffen Miner each pounded three hits to lead Hawaii Hilo to a 7-4 Pacific West Conference baseball victory over Dixie State on Wednesday in Riverside, Calif., to split a doubleheader.
Jordan Hanley connected for three hits for the Red Storm (17-7, 10-6).
Miner drove in three runs for the Vulcans (7-25, 7-19).
In the first game, Dixie State finished off a 5-1 win in the continuation of game that started March 15.
Hawaii’s Britos ties for 41st place
Hawaii’s Ka‘ili Britos shot a 3-over 75 to finish in a tie for 41st place the Rainbow Wahine’s Anuenue Spring Break Classic golf tournament at the Bay Course in Kapalua, Maui.
Britos ended the three-round tournament at 9-over 225, 19 shots behind medalist Grace Na of Pepperdine.
The Rainbow Wahine placed 17th out of 18 teams at 66-over 930, 76 shots behind tournament-winning UCLA.
Hawaii Hilo finished in last place. The Vulcans’ top finisher was Jade Salvador, who tied for 69th place at 18-over 234.
