Injuries result from moped collision
A man and a teenage boy were taken to the hospital, one in serious condition, after two mopeds collided Sunday afternoon in Waimanalo, according to Emergency Medical Services.
The accident happened on Kalanianaole Highway near Tinker Road at about 12:30 p.m.
The moped operators were a 41-year-old taken to the hospital with serious injuries and a 17-year-old who sustained minor injuries.
Both were riding in a group when they collided.
Suspect jailed in theft at Ala Moana Center
A 55-year-old Kaimuki man was arrested Saturday night after he was caught taking items from a store at Ala Moana Center, police said.
Loss prevention workers allegedly caught the man taking more than $300 worth of merchandise from the store just after 6 p.m. He was later arrested on suspicion of second-degree theft.
Woman, 33, bites police officer in Kapolei
A 33-year-old woman with no local address bit a police officer responding to a miscellaneous public case involving a man and a woman Saturday afternoon at the Kapolei Shopping Center, police said.
The woman was arrested at 1:47 p.m. on suspicion of first-degree assault against a law enforcement officer and was admitted to a hospital for a mental evaluation.
Man arrested in possible credit card fraud
A 35-year-old man with no local address was arrested in Waikiki early Sunday morning on suspicion of fraudulent use of a credit card and possible identity theft.
Police said the man had burglary tools and confidential personal information on 22 individuals. He was arrested at about 3 a.m. The investigation is continuing.
