Kim birdied two of the first three holes to help the Zags claim their fourth tournament title this season and third in the spring.
>> Monica Keo, Punahou ’11: The Seattle University sophomore closed with a 77 to finish in a tie for 41st place at 19 over at the Challenge at Onion Creek.
>> Marissa Chow, ‘Iolani ’12: The Pepperdine freshman earned her second top-10 finish of the season after a final-round 3-over 75 to finish 8 over in a tie for 10th place at the San Diego State Farms Invitational on Tuesday in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.
>> Alina Ching, Punahou ’11: The Pepperdine sophomore shot 6 over on Tuesday to finish at 15-over 231 in a tie for 26th place at the San Diego State Farms Invitational.
WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS
>> Tiana Montell, St. Joseph ’11: The UC Davis sophomore was named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation all-conference team in both the vault and balance beam. Montell had the fifth-best score on the vault (9.765) and seventh-best score on the beam (9.690) in the conference heading into the championship meet.
>> Kahoku Palafox, Maryknoll ’08: The Arizona State graduate student was named second-team All-Pac-12 on bars. Palafox tied her career high of 9.900 on bars at the Pac-12 championships and finished with the top three bar scores of the season for the Sun Devils.
SOFTBALL
>> Courtney Senas, Mililani ’10: The Florida State third baseman hit a grand slam and drove in five runs in a 14-9 win over Maryland on Sunday and finished 5-for-13 with four runs and seven RBIs in the three-game series.
>> Katie Manuma, Campbell ’10: The Brigham Young junior went 4-for-10 with a walk, two runs and an RBI in three losses against Houston on Friday and Saturday.
>> Kori Nishitomi, Maryknoll ’11: The Longwood (Fla.) sophomore went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk and an RBI in an 8-4 win over Radford last Wednesday. Through Sunday’s games, Nishitomi ranks No. 1 among all NCAA Division I teams, averaging 1.52 runs scored per game.
>> Kristi Oshiro, Mililani ’10: The East Carolina second baseman hit .625 (5-for-8) with four walks, five runs, four RBIs and two stolen bases in a three-game sweep of UTEP on Friday and Saturday.
>> Kai Clark, Kapolei ’09: The East Carolina catcher homered and drove in two runs in a 9-0 win over UTEP in the second game of a doubleheader Friday.
>> Kayla Shimoda, Punahou ’11: The Columbia (N.Y.) sophomore hit a grand slam in a 9-6 win over Dartmouth in the second game of a doubleheader on Friday and hit a solo homer in a 4-1 loss to Harvard in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday.
>> Kylee Oshiro, Moanalua ’11: The Pacific (Ore.) sophomore hit .400 (4-for-10) with a walk, three doubles, two RBIs and a run scored in a four-game split with George Fox (Ore.) on Friday and Saturday.
>> Joslyn Eugenio, Sacred Hearts ’09: The St. Martin’s (Wash.) first baseman went 3-for-6 with a run scored in a doubleheader sweep of Concordia (Ore.) on Friday.
MEN’S TENNIS
>> Joshua Wong, Hilo ’09: The Willamette (Ore.) senior dropped only three games in a straight-sets victory at No. 1 singles in an 8-1 loss to Middlebury (Vt.) College on Thursday. Wong is 11-1 in singles in the spring, losing his only match to a Division I opponent.
>> Kento Tanaka-Tamaki, St. Anthony ’11: The Pepperdine sophomore won in three sets at No. 3 singles to help the Waves defeat San Francisco 6-1 on Friday.
WOMEN’S TENNIS
>> Kristin Lim, Punahou ’09: The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps senior and No. 3 ranked player in NCAA Division III won all three of her
No. 1 singles matches in straight sets as the Athenas went 4-0 in matches since last Wednesday.
>> Sarah Kukino, Kauai ’11: The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps sophomore went 3-0 in singles and 4-0 in doubles in matches played since last Wednesday.
>> Karly Pang, Hawaii Baptist ’12: The Marist (N.Y.) freshman won in straight sets at No. 1 singles and was also victorious at No. 1 doubles in a 5-2 win over Hofstra on Monday.
>> Adrienne Hamada, Mililani ’10: The Whittier (Calif.) junior won in straight sets at No. 3 singles and also picked up a win at No. 2 doubles to help the Poets defeat Caltech 6-3 on Saturday.
MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
>> Taylor Crabb, Punahou ’10: The Long Beach State junior became the 20th player in school history to reach 1,000 career kills in a five-set win over Stanford on Saturday. Crabb had 17 kills in the match to push his career total to 1,015, moving him into 19th place. He also had nine digs, a block assist and an ace against the Cardinal.
>> Gabriel Vega, ‘Iolani ’12: The Stanford freshman had three kills and two block assists against LBSU.
>> Jaylen Reyes, Kamehameha ’11: The Brigham Young libero had a team-high seven digs in a three-set sweep of Southern California in the Cougars’ final home match of the season on Saturday.
>> Micah Christenson, Kamehameha ’11: The USC setter had 28 assists, seven digs and an ace against BYU.
>> Henry Cassiday, Punahou ’10: The USC libero had three digs and two assists against BYU.
>> Josh Taylor, Punahou ’11: The Pepperdine outside hitter had 12 kills, four digs and two block assists in a four-set loss to Cal Baptist on Saturday.

>> Courtney Miller, Punahou ’12: The UC San Diego goalkeeper finished with 25 saves in four games in the Hawaii Spring Break Tournament, notching four in a 9-6 loss to Hawaii on Saturday.
>> Sarina Shibata, Punahou ’12: The Villanova freshman scored the first three goals of the game and finished with a team-high six in a 14-11 win over St. Francis (N.Y.) on Saturday. She netted the game-winner and added three more goals in a 10-9 win over Virginia Military Institute later that day.
>> Hannah Ishida, Punahou ’09: The Villanova senior had two goals and four assists against St. Francis (N.Y.) and two more goals against VMI in her final home matches.
>> Naomi Ng, Punahou ’12: The Villanova driver scored once in each of the Wildcats’ victories over St. Francis (N.Y.) and VMI.
>> Moana Tuipulotu, Lahainaluna ’09: The Redlands (Calif.) senior driver scored the tying goal in overtime and finished with two total in a 9-7 win over Occidental (Calif.) last Wednesday.
>> Nanea Fujiyama, Kamehameha ’09: The Occidental (Calif.) senior, who was ejected in the loss to Redlands (Calif.), scored a game-high five goals in a 9-7 loss to Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday.
>> Jane Galluzzi, Punahou ’08: The Cal Lutheran senior tied for team-high honors with three goals in a 12-6 win over Chapman (Calif.) on Saturday.
>> Kehau Ai, Kamehameha ’11: The Cal Lutheran sophomore had two assists against Chapman (Calif.).
>> Paige Tsuruda, Word of Life ’10: The Cal State Bakersfield junior driver had two goals in a 15-5 win over Fresno Pacific in CSUB’s first game of the Roadrunner II Invitational on Friday.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Rodrigues leads Utes to WNIT semis
Utah senior guard Iwalani Rodrigues finished with 14 points, a career-high eight assists and seven rebounds to help the Utes defeat Saint Mary’s (Calif.) 58-55 on Saturday to advance to the semifinals of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.
Utah, which has never played a game in April, will play at Kansas State today at 3.
Rodrigues, a 2008 Kalani alumna, has come up big for the Utes, who have won 11 of their past 14.
She has averaged 8.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game in the Utes’ four wins in the tournament.
For the season, Rodrigues has averaged 11.7 points and career highs of 4.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.
She currently ranks fourth all-time at Utah with 215 3-pointers made. She was named second-team All-Mountain West Conference as a sophomore.
She ranks fourth this year in the Pac-12, shooting 35.3 percent from behind the 3-point line and averaging 36.1 minutes a game. She played all 40 minutes in a game 10 times this season and earned honorable mention All-Pac-12 honors.
MEN’S TRACK AND FIELD
Kawai ties a Pacific school record
Pacific (Ore.) junior Kelson Kawai tied a school record in the men’s high jump on Saturday, clearing 6 feet, 8 inches to match a mark held by three different Boxers athletes.
Kawai finished second in the event at the Peyton Scoring Meet in Tacoma, Wash., posting the fourth-best score of the season in NCAA Division III competition.
The 2010 Kohala alumnus also placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 43 feet, 3.25 inches.
Kawai is one of five male and eight female track and field athletes from Hawaii competing for the Boxers.
Sophomore Daniel Wagner (Mid-Pacific ’11) led all of Pacific’s sprinters with a second-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, running a season-best 57.68 seconds.
Two other athletes also posted season-best times in the perfect weather conditions: Junior Sean Valente, a 2010 Saint Louis alumnus, placed third in the 400 meters in 50.92 seconds, and sophomore Michael Zane (Punahou ’11) was third in the 200 meters in 22.61 seconds.
Wagner also earned a third-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.08 seconds.
On the women’s side, freshman Alexis Damo (Sacred Hearts ’12) finished fourth in the 100 meters in 13.85 seconds, and sophomore Cyan Agena (Kamehameha ’11) placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.78 seconds.
