'9 TO 5' IS A HIT AT DHT | 1. Honolulu Star-Advertiser Senior Vice President Dave Kennedy, left, and his wife, Fiona Kennedy, joined Star-Advertiser President and Publisher Dennis Francis, and his wife, Marjorie Francis, in representing the newspaper at Diamond Head Theatre's March 29 preshow reception for sponsors of its spring production, "9 to 5: The Musical." ISLE REALITY SHOW SPOTLIGHTS HOMEBUYERS' SEARCH | 5. Caron Ling, left, Katie Minkus, Matt Beall, David Buck and Sandra Sagisi Moser were the hosts and guests of honor March 26 at a premiere screening party for "Hawaii Life," a locally produced reality show, at Pearl Ultralounge. "Hawaii Life" airs Thursdays on HGTV and follows would-be homebuyers as they look for a place they can afford in Hawaii.

KUPAOA CELEBRATES NEW CD | 4. Puakea Nogelmeier, center, congratulated Kupaoa -- Kalikolihau Hannahs Paik and her husband, Kellen Paik -- while other musicians performed March 29 at the CD release party for the duo's third album, "Bumbye," at the Corner Kitchen in Kapahulu. The title song is one of several Nogelmeier compositions Kupaoa included on the album.

'REMAINS' EXCELLENT AT KUMU KAHUA | 3. Cast member Chris Masato Doi, center, celebrated with playwright Mona Z. Smith, left, and director Traci Mariano March 28 at the opening-night postshow reception for Kumu Kahua Theatre's premiere of "All That Remains." Smith and Mariano began work 20 years ago on a play about the experiences of Japanese-American soldiers in World War II, and "All That Remains" approaches that familiar story from a fresh perspective that makes it excellent theater.
