With the exception of the paperback copy of "The Inferno," the Season 6 opening scene of "Mad Men" includes many details fans will never see: A plane ticket issued to "MR D Draper," cigarette butts, a fake mai tai and specially made coasters and a napkin that reflect the Royal Hawaiian Hotel of the late 1960s.

The luau scene was recreated from a Matson travel booklet of the period. It was shot on The Ocean Lawn of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, between the Mai Tai Bar, on the left, and the Monarch Ballroom. The palm trees on either side of the stage are fake.
