Beverly Mau, president of Associated Chinese University Women, third from left, welcomed Erica Lee, left, Douglas Ho of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii, and Crystal Lee to "Asian Rhythms and Motifs," a luncheon fashion show fundraiser, March 30 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Crystal Lee is Miss Chinatown Hawaii and Erica Lee is a member of her court. Proceeds will fund scholarships and community-service programs.

'HEDDA' HOT AT HPU | 3. Director Joyce Maltby, left, celebrated with cast members Nick Barnum (Eilert), Catherine Leskovec (Thea), Tony Nickelsen (George) and Melinda Maltby (Berta) April 5 at the opening-night reception for her production of "Hedda Gabler" at Hawaii Pacific University. Nickelsen's portrayal of an innocent man whose innate goodness blinds him to the duplicity of others is a key performance in Maltby's provocative staging of this classic tragedy.
