Fundraiser geared toward isle fabric aficionados
Textile addicts, get ready for "Bolts of Fabric & Fun," a fundraiser for TEMARI, Center for Asian & Pacific Arts.
The event is designed for people who love fabrics to collect everything related to sewing, weaving, dyeing or beading. Many items come from collectors and artists selling overstocked merchandise from their studios.
The free event takes place 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Honpa Hongwanji Social Hall, 1727 Pali Highway. TEMARI members are granted early entry at 8 a.m.
Look for bolts of yardage, bundles of remnants, kimono, obi, yarn and notions.
Special talks include:
» 10 a.m.: "Care of Textiles," with Sara Oka, textile manager at Honolulu Museum of Art.
» 11 a.m.: "Boro — Rags Stitched and Patched," with Linda Ryan. "Boro," Japanese for rags, inspired Louis Vuitton to create $6,000 jackets using the rustic techniques of patched Japanese plantation jackets for its Spring 2012 collection.

Eden in Love is celebrating its birthday with an O-M-G sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Ward Warehouse.
Loyalty will be rewarded as those who wear one Eden in Love item receive a 10 percent discount; two items get you 20 percent off, and three or more will get you 30 percent off your purchase. Shoppers will also be treated to cupcakes.
