SAN DIEGO » Manti Te’o is one of four draft picks who have signed contracts with the San Diego Chargers.
Te’o, a linebacker from Laie, was picked by the Chargers in the second round. General manager Tom Telesco and coach Mike McCoy said they weren’t bothered by the scrutiny Te’o has been under the last four months.
Also signing four-year deals Thursday were third-round pick Keenan Allen, a wide receiver from California; sixth-rounder Tourek Williams, an outside linebacker from Florida International; and quarterback Brad Sorensen, a seventh-rounder from Southern Utah.
First-round pick D.J. Fluker, a tackle from Alabama, and fifth-rounder Steve Williams, a cornerback from Cal, remain unsigned.
Details of Te’o’s contract were not immediately available, but the No. 38 pick in last year’s draft, Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Andre Branch, got a signing bonus of $2.14 million as part of his four-year, $5.1 million contract, according to USA Today.
A Chargers rookie minicamp runs today through Sunday.
Meanwhile, Maxim magazine named Te’o’s fake girlfriend to its annual "Hot 100" list, coming in at No. 69.
