Chinese trends update Jade Dynasty menu

Those who don’t care for classrooms must envy chefs, for whom other restaurants and travel abroad are a compulsory source of continuing education.

At Jade Dynasty, that means frequent travel to China to keep up with emerging trends in the nation’s diverse cuisine.

The Ala Moana Center restaurant is rolling out new dishes, and a recent dim sum outing meant trying some new specialties such as a fried chive dumpling colored green with chive juice, pork stomach prepared to mimic the soft crunch of jellyfish with a touch of wasabi for heat, and dessert of ginger tofu with soft tofu made fresh in house each morning, setting just in time for the lunch crowd.
