Woman is sought in shooting in Makaha
Police are asking the public’s help in finding a woman wanted in a shooting in Makaha on Monday.
May Iwa Brewer, 32, is being sought on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder of a 43-year-old woman.
Brewer is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall with brown eyes.
Police said that at 4:43 p.m. the suspect approached the older woman, who was sitting in her car on Farrington Highway near Keaau Beach Park.
Police said Brewer brandished a handgun, demanded money and struggled for the victim’s property.
During the struggle the gun went off, the bullet striking the victim in the head. Brewer fled in a vehicle driven by a male.
The victim was taken in serious condition to a hospital.
