Maui task force sweep nets 48 fugitives
U.S. Marshals Hawaii Fugitive Task Force officers arrested 48 fugitives wanted for drug offenses, sex offenses, robbery and probation violation over a four-day mission on Maui.
Christopher Valdez, 27, was arrested Monday at his home in Wailuku on an arrest warrant charging him with two counts of third-degree sexual assault and three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
In 2006, Valdez was convicted of first-degree sexual assault and was on probation at the time of arrest. Valdez is being held at Maui Community Correctional Center in lieu of $500,000 bail.
Later Monday, 35-year-old Erwin Javier Acio of Kahului was also arrested on three outstanding warrants for criminal contempt of court, failure to appear and violation of supervised release, the Marshals Service said. Acio was initially arrested for drug-related charges. The bail amount for all three warrants totaled $700,000.
On Wednesday task force officers found and arrested Kingsley Lindsey, 20, of Lahaina for a felony assault and probation violation warrant, according to the Marshals Service. When officers were interviewing Lindsey’s mother and stepfather, they noticed Lindsey attempting to flee on foot from a side window of the residence. Lindsey was apprehended and is being held on two bails totaling $70,000.
U.S. Marshals Hawaii Fugitive Task Force participants included law enforcement officers from Maui, Kauai and Hawaii police departments and the state Sheriff Division, with support from the Hawaii’s High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area program.
Woman allegedly robs man in Waikiki
Honolulu police arrested a 20-year-old woman who allegedly used physical force to rob a 45-year-old man in Waikiki.
Police said the victim told officers the woman robbed him Thursday. Officers located the suspect and arrested her on suspicion of robbery.
Restraining order violation leads to arrest
Police arrested a 27-year-old man who allegedly violated a restraining order and threatened a 45-year-old woman.
Officers arrested the suspect Thursday on suspicion of terroristic threatening, violating a restraining order, drugs, criminal property damage and a charge involving replica firearms.
