Cessna reports problem landing on Lanai
A small airplane had problems Monday upon landing at the Lanai Airport.
The Cessna 56 reported landing gear problems when it arrived at 6:30 a.m., Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor said.
No injuries were reported.
The airplane is registered to R & J Aviators LLC of Waialae Avenue, whose agent is listed as Oahu resident Reed B. Rohrer, according to authorities.
Rohrer was unavailable for comment.
Class will help seniors manage chronic disease
The Kauai County Agency on Elderly Affairs invites seniors and their caregivers to a chronic disease self-management workshop starting June 20.
The workshop is part of a six-week series that meets from 9 to 11:30 a.m. every Thursday at the Lihue Civic Center, Piikoi Building.
The cost of the workshop is $12 for seniors (60 and older). If space allows, those under the age of 60 can also attend for a $40 fee.
Registration includes a book titled "Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions" and a relaxation CD or cassette tape. Scholarships for seniors are also available upon request.
Preregistration is required to participate in the workshop as space is limited to 16 participants.

Maui County updates maps for evacuations
Maui County has updated the island’s tsunami evacuation maps based on newly released scientific data.
The updated maps include expanded evacuation areas in Kahului, Kihei and Lahaina as well as maps for Kahakuloa Village and Keanae, which had not previously been mapped.
The updated maps can be found on the Maui County website at www.mauicounty.gov/CivilDefense and click on "Tsunami Evacuation Maps" on the left menu bar.
