Maui’s Kim plays role in national title
Freshman Kyung Kim, who grew up on Maui, helped Southern California to a record-breaking win at last week’s NCAA women’s golf championships.
The Trojans captured their third NCAA title with a four-day total of 19-under-par 1,133, at Athens, Ga. That is 15 shots better than the previous record. USC won by 21 shots over Duke. Freshman Annie Park won the individual title, at 71—278, while Kim tied for sixth (77—289). Oregon sophomore Cassie Isagawa, also from Maui, closed with a 78 and tied for 23rd at 294.
