Stabbing results in assault charge
A 28-year-old man who allegedly stabbed his 22-year-old nephew in Aiea has been charged with second-degree assault.
Matthew Tenson of Aiea was being held in lieu of $15,000 bail after being charged Friday.
Police said Tenson had been drinking and got into an argument with his nephew about household chores at about 9:15 a.m. Thursday. Tenson then allegedly took out a pocketknife and stabbed the younger man, who suffered what police described as "serious and substantial injuries" to his abdomen.
Tenson fled the scene, but police arrested him Thursday at the Pearl City station.
Neighbor arrested in attack on woman
Police arrested a 32-year-old Waikiki woman Saturday morning after she allegedly assaulted her neighbor.
According to police, the suspect forced her way into a 51-year-old woman’s residence and tried to attack her with a dangerous instrument.
The suspect left the apartment but assaulted the victim when the victim went outside. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary and third-degree assault.
