Kalanianaole repaving to continue today
A Honolulu Board of Water Supply contractor was expected at about 4:30 a.m. today to finish repaving a section of Kalanianaole Highway that was affected by a water main break Monday.
The three westbound lanes of the highway near the Wailupe Fire Station were closed from 7 p.m. Tuesday to repave the lanes from Kaai to Waa streets.
At least one eastbound lane will be used to contra-flow westbound traffic.
The lanes were closed Monday afternoon after an 8-inch water main broke. Crews repaired the pipe, near 5044 Kalanianaole Highway, and restored water service to customers at 2 a.m. Tuesday. The highway was reopened at about 5:50 a.m. after temporary repairs were made.
