Center to celebrate author’s birthday
The Children’s Discovery Center will celebrate noted children’s author and illustrator Eric Carle’s birthday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Carle, best known for “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” and “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?” will be the inspiration behind three craft activity stations that day.
Children can make “Mixed-up Chameleon” collages with painted paper and a “Hungry Caterpillar” necklace.
Carle’s books will be read throughout the day.
Activities are free with admission to the Children’s Discovery Center at 111 Ohe St. in Kakaako ($8 kamaaina, military; $6 seniors; free for members and keiki under 1). Call 524-5437 or visit www.discoverycenterhawaii.org.
