Fun business program awaits keiki at mall
Windward Mall is seeking a few "Kid-preneurs" for its second annual "Kids, Inc." program, offering youths ages 6 to 15 a chance to set up shop in the mall.
The event is intended to promote retail entrepreneurism among youth, hosted at select Jones Lang LaSalle-managed shopping centers throughout the U.S.
Chosen participants will be part of a one-day "business showcase" July 27 at the mall’s Center Court, where they’ll learn about business, make money and, most of all, have fun.
Participants may create something from scratch, offer a service or resell a product from a wholesaler. Parental involvement should be minimal.
Submit a business plans to Windward Mall’s Facebook page by Sunday. Children 12 and younger will need a parent or guardian to submit their entry. The shopping center’s Facebook fans will vote for their favorite ideas between July 1 and 12, and 10 will be chosen. Winners will be announced July 12.
For more on the program, visit www.windwardmall.com and click on the "Kids, Inc." box, where nine business plans are already listed.
