2 men are arrested in Waikiki stabbing
Police arrested two men for allegedly trying to kill a 53-year-old man during a stabbing in Waikiki late Friday.
Police said the two suspects, 18 and 22, got into a fight with the victim and one of them allegedly stabbed the older man at 11:55 p.m. Friday.
Paramedics took the 53-year-old to the hospital in serious condition with multiple stab wounds, Emergency Medical Services reported.
Paramedics reported the stabbing took place on Kalakaua Avenue near Kapiolani Park.
A witness followed the two suspects on foot, police said.
Officers stopped the two men a short distance away and arrested them at 12:22 a.m. on Monsarrat Avenue on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder.
The 18-year-old is a Waikiki resident, while the 22-year-old is from Aiea. Both have the same last name.
Police would not say which suspect is alleged to have stabbed the victim.
