Kohala High gets $150,000 for power work
A $150,000 project soon will provide Kohala High School with electrical upgrades.
Kohala High School received funding from the state Department of Education for improvements to a building that houses the administration offices, elementary and high school libraries and a computer lab.
The project will improve the building’s electrical capacity, replace lighting fixtures with more energy-efficient ones and add electrical outlets for technology use. The outlets in the library will provide for small meeting and teaching areas with smart-board capability that the school does not have now.
The start date of the construction work has yet to be determined.
