Gas prices going down? Where?
Consider this a not-so-lucky-we-live-Hawaii tidbit.
While the rest of the nation is enjoying a summer slide in gasoline prices, Hawaii and Alaska are the only states with gas above $4 per gallon. On Friday, it averaged $4.27 here. Bummer.
For more than three straight weeks now, the national average for a gallon has fallen and now hovers below $3.50. Great for summer mainland travel if a road trip is planned.
The experts say oil prices are relatively stable — Egypt’s turmoil being the big main blip — and refineries are producing more gas after springtime maintenance.
The bright side of things, of course, is that there are myriad good reasons such as the beautiful weather to confirm why we are, indeed, lucky we live Hawaii.
