A visitor at the National Botanic Garden in Meise near Brussels on Monday gazed up at the titan arum, or corpse flower, one of the world's largest flowers. At the heart of the flower, a huge column rises upward -- this one measuring 8 feet tall -- and is responsible for the smell that resembles a decomposing animal. The rare Sumatran plant blooms for only three days.
