Developer Downtown Capital LLC and contractor Hawaiian Dredging Construction Co. broke ground Tuesday on a 635-unit condominium tower at the corner of Kapiolani Boulevard and South Street on the site of the former newspaper building. Roberts Hawaii to take over Kahului Airport shuttle
Roberts Hawaii, which operates a fleet of about 900 vehicles across the major Hawaiian Islands, will take over management Thursday of the on-demand airport shuttle service for Kahului Airport. The company will offer one-way or round-trip rides between the airport and lodgings in Central, South and West Maui.
Roberts will run shuttles daily. Advance reservations for service from the airport will not be taken, but customers can book rides at the Roberts Hawaii kiosk near baggage claim in the main terminal. Service for return to the airport can be made by telephone 24 hours before departure. Hawaiian to fly larger planes to Tahiti
Hawaiian Airlines will use planes with more seats to increase the number passengers it can carry on flights between Honolulu and Papeete, Tahiti. The carrier said Tuesday it will fly a 294-seat Airbus A330-200 beginning Nov. 2 instead of the 264-seat Boeing 767-300ER it is using now.
Also on Nov. 2, Hawaiian said it will change its flight schedule on the weekly service with departures and arrivals an hour earlier. Flights will leave Honolulu at 3:35 p.m. Saturdays and land in Papeete at 9:30 p.m. The return flight will depart at 11:30 p.m. Saturdays and arrive in Honolulu at 5:15 a.m. the next day.

Business Solution Technologies has announced that Vijay Musaligari has been promoted to director of information technology consulting. His experience includes work as a lead database administrator for Oracle Corp. as well as a programmer analyst at Hawaii’s Office of Technology Transfer and Economic Development.
The Hawaii Tourism Authority has hired Laci Goshi as a tourism brand manager. Prior to joining HTA, Goshi served as a contract sales manager at Aqua Hotel & Resorts and sales manager at Pacific Beach Hotel.
The Electric Drive Transportation Association has elected Alex Tiller to its 2013-2014 board of directors. He has served as a chief executive officer of Sunetric since 2010 as well as for Autowatts.
