About 235,000 questionnaires will be mailed to randomly selected Hawaii residents to help find jurors for 2014, the state Judiciary announced Friday.
Residents who receive a questionnaire have 10 days to complete and return it to the Jury Pool Office, the Judiciary said.
Anyone who does not respond could be found in contempt of court, according to Judiciary officials.
To serve as a juror, a person must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen and a Hawaii resident, and must be able to read and understand English.
The Judiciary sends the questionnaires to residents each year in the first week of August.
According to the Judiciary, questionnaires were sent to about 85,000 residents on Oahu, about 55,000 on Maui, about 70,000 on the Big Island and about 25,000 on Kauai.
