Homeless man arrested in alleged assault
A 26-year-old homeless man was arrested after he allegedly kicked out the window of a Waikiki home Friday morning and allegedly assaulted the homeowner.
Police said the incident occurred at 1:17 a.m. near Kalaimoku Street. The man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary.
Woman suspected of forgery is charged
A 25-year-old Hilo woman has been charged with 29 counts of theft and 28 counts of forgery after she cashed checks totaling more than $9,000 from her former employer.
Suzy Cho Chun of Keaau was arrested at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hilo Airport after allegedly forging 28 checks. She was also arrested on two counts of revocation of supervised release based on no-bail bench warrants issued by District Court. Her bail was set at $89,750.
Oakland man died off Maui while snorkeling
Maui police have identified the 41-year-old California visitor who apparently drowned while snorkeling Wednesday near Kaanapali as Son Vo.
Police said an investigation revealed that there were no signs of criminal activity surrounding Vo’s death.
Vo, of Oakland, went snorkeling in the ocean at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday fronting the Kaanapali Villa and failed to return.
His body was found Thursday morning by the Maui Fire Department’s helicopter.
