BSN - Hyatt VIP manager James Kaikis, back holds the door for VIP guests Jack Irving, left, Irving's fiancee Candice Anderson, right, and Anderson's daughter Emma, 10, middle, all visiting from Phoenix, Arizona, on Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency Resort in Waikiki. Irving and Anderson are in Hawaii to get married. Prior to Kaikis' start, the main hotel complaint was long check-in waits, a product of Waikiki's high visitor traffic. In response, Hyatt tried to think outside of the box to find a suitable solution to ease the arrival for our Gold Passport members as well as other incoming VIPs. The result was to shorten the line at check-in and to provide other memorable experiences for guests. Kaikis contacts VIP guests before their arrival and starts working to make their trip exceed expectations from check-in to all other points in between. (Jamm Aquino/The Honolulu Star-Advertiser).
