Toddler nearly drowns in Ewa pool
A 3-year-old boy was in serious condition Wednesday after nearly drowning at a pool in Ewa.
Paramedics responded to the 5:23 p.m. call at a recreation center pool at 91-899 Puamaeole St. An ambulance took the child to an area hospital, an EMS official said.
Vehicle strikes child riding scooter
A 10-year-old girl riding a scooter in a crosswalk was hit by a vehicle at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at 1203 N. School Street.
Emergency Medical Services said her condition was stable, but no other information was available. The child was not wearing a helmet.
Stopped motorists were in stolen cars
Two motorists were pulled over in Waianae for apparent traffic violations in separate incidents Tuesday and now face criminal charges for driving vehicles that had been reported stolen.
In the first incident, at 11 a.m. at Paakea and Mailiili roads, the driver, 39, was arrested on suspicion of car theft, driving without a license, illegal use of auto plates and contempt.
The second incident occurred after 7 p.m. at Mailiili Road and Farrington Highway. The suspect, 37, also faces charges of car theft, driving without a license, and several drug charges after police found illegal drugs in the car.
Both suspects are from Waianae.
