Attempted murder is charge in stabbing
A 29-year-old Waipahu man was charged with attempted murder Monday in connection with a stabbing early Sunday morning in Kakaako.
William E. Villarreal, also charged with disorderly conduct Monday, posted $100,000 bail and is scheduled to enter a plea in Honolulu District Court later this week.
Police said the incident occurred about 1:40 a.m. near the Geisha House, a bar in Kakaako.
A witness observed Villarreal lunge at the victim, a 28-year-old man, who later discovered that he had been stabbed. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Disorderly conduct charges also are pending against Villarreal’s 26-year-old brother, who allegedly was involved in the fight involving several people near the Kakaako bar, police said.
