Bank robber at large after heist in Kailua
Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding the suspect in a bank robbery in Kailua on Monday.
CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department said they are looking for a man wanted for robbing the Bank of Hawaii at 636 Kailua Road.
The robbery occurred about 3:30 p.m. Monday when a man entered the bank, approached the teller and demanded money. He fled on foot in an unknown direction, according to police.
The suspect is believed to be in his 30s, 5-feet-2 to 5-feet-6 inches tall. He was wearing a black T-shirt, light-colored shorts, a white visor and sunglasses. He was carrying a blue backpack.
