HPU edges Chaminade in women’s soccer
Junior forward Lexi Cameau scored in the 30th minute on an assist from Breanna Gaddis to lift Hawaii Pacific to a 1-0 victory over Chaminade in the women’s soccer opener for both schools Thursday at Atherton Field in Kaneohe.
HPU next hosts Cal State San Bernardino at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Atherton Field. Chaminade plays Cal State San Bernardino at 10 a.m. Monday at Saint Louis Field.

HPU, Chaminade, UH Hilo win in volleyball
Pomai Recca had 15 kills and 12 digs as Hawaii Pacific (2-0) defeated Chico State (0-1) 25-22, 15-25, 25-23, 25-18 on Thursday in a college women’s volleyball match at St. Andrew’s Priory gym.
» Kapiolani Rapoza had 11 kills, while Kylee Pedro, Crystal Powell and Ku‘ulei Lynch nine kills each to power Chaminade to a 26-28, 25-22, 25-23, 25-14 victory over Fort Hays (Kan.) State at McCabe Gym.
» Kyndra Trevino-Scott had 20 kills and Marley Strand-Nicolaisen 15 to move Hawaii Hilo to 3-0 with a 25-20, 23-25, 24-26, 25-19, 15-5 victory over visiting East Central University (0-1) of Ada, Okla.
