Aiea’s Dennis Lajola is making the transition from tennis touring pro to tennis teaching pro.
Lajola is now working with the U.S. Tennis Association/ Hawaii Pacific Section to help Hawaii juniors. He is based at Waikiki Tennis Club & Golf at the Pacific Beach Hotel.
"Dennis Lajola’s addition to our team of tennis professionals is exciting for junior tennis," said Ron Romano, the section’s executive director. "He will positively impact the level of our local talent."
Lajola was part of the USTA’s High Performance Team at age 13.
He played all four Junior Grand Slams and represented the U.S. at the Junior Davis Cup in Barcelona and the Junior World Youth Cup in the Czech Republic.
Lajola also played for the University of Hawaii and was a big part of three conference titles.
