Seasiders remain at No. 4 in poll
The Brigham Young-Hawaii volleyball team remained undefeated as well as at No. 4 in the AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 poll announced Monday.
The Seasiders (7-0) continued to receive two first-place votes as the top four spots were unchanged. No. 1 Minnesota Duluth (44 votes), followed by Concordia-St. Paul (10-1) and Tampa (7-1).
Recca named freshman of week again
Hawaii Pacific freshman hitter Pomai Recca was named the PacWest freshman of the week in women’s volleyball for the second consecutive week after helping lead the Sea Warriors to two wins.
The Kamehameha Schools product had a combined 34 points on 25 kills, six aces and six block assists in a 3-2 victory over Hawaii Hilo and a sweep of Chaminade. Her 4.25 points per set tied for third-best in the PacWest this past week.
HONOR ROLL
Shih Ting Chen, BYUH: The junior helped the undefeated Seasiders open PacWest play with two wins. She tied for tops in the conference in kills per set (4.0), was second in digs (5.50 dps) and was tops in points (4.83 pps). She had 29 points on 24 kills, four aces and two block assists.

BYUH’s Moreno is player of the week
Brigham Young-Hawaii junior midfielder Michael Moreno, who accounted for six points on three goals during a 2-0 week, was named Pacific West Conference men’s player of the week.
Moreno scored the go-ahead goal at 68:40 and an insurance goal at 72:38 in a 4-2 win over Hawaii Pacific. He also scored the second goal (61:16) in a 3-0 win over Chaminade.
Women’s honor roll
Caroline Stromick,UHH: The junior midfielder scored both goals in a 2-0 shutout of Chaminade, breaking the scoreless match on an unassisted goal in the 62nd minute. Her second goal, also unassisted, came eight minutes later.
