City identifies victim of highway accident
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the Kailua man who was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle on Kalanianaole Highway this month as Bruce Epstein.
The cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries caused by the accident
Epstein, 52, lost control of his blue 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle while heading east on Kalanianaole Highway on Sept. 10, police said. He was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead.
Police said Epstein sideswiped a westbound Toyota Camry near the Halona Blow Hole. He was not wearing a helmet. Police believe he was speeding.
Makiki man held in sexual assaults
Police are investigating a complaint by a 22-year-old woman that she was sexually assaulted repeatedly beginning in June by a 31-year-old Makiki man.
The suspect was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault.
