HPU improves to 4-0 in PacWest volleyball
Hawaii Pacific ran its Pacific West Conference women’s volleyball record to 4-0 Saturday with a 25-16, 25-15, 15-25, 25-23 victory over host Hawaii-Hilo.
Kasey Thompson had a match-high 15 kills for the Sea Warriors, 10-2 overall. The Vulcans fell to 5-4 and 0-4.
» Shi Ting Chen had 13 kills as No. 4-ranked Brigham Young-Hawaii (8-1, 3-1) rebounded from Thursday’s loss to Hawaii Pacific to sweep Chaminade (4-5, 1-3) at McCabe Gym, 25-21, 25-21, 25-17.
HPU thumps Dixie State in men’s soccer
Brais Garcia scored three goals and Felipe Silva two to lead Hawaii Pacific to a 5-1 victory over Dixie State in a Pacific West Conference men’s soccer match Saturday at St. George, Utah.
HPU improved to 3-2-1 overall, 1-0-0 in the PacWest. Dixie State is 1-4-2 and 0-3-1.

» Kimberly Allard scored 20 seconds into the match and Kelly Jenks added two goals as California Baptist (4-4-0, 3-1-0) beat Brigham Young Hawaii (1-3-1, 0-2-0), 3-0, at Riverside, Calif.
» Tara Kracy, Natalie Swift and Jessica Van Loo scored second-half goals to lift Point Loma (3-3-1, 2-0-1) to a 3-0 victory over Hawaii Hilo (4-1-1, 1-1-0) at San Diego.
» Kimberly Thurman and Megan Marchbanks scored second-half goals to carry Dixie State (3-3-1, 3-1-0) past Hawaii Pacific (2-4-0, 0-1-0), 2-0, at St. George, Utah
