Jordan Taamu threw for 133 yards and a touchdown as Pearl City held off Radford 7-6 on Friday night and forced a three-way tie for second place in OIA White football.
Trailing 7-6 with 54 seconds left, Radford failed to convert on fourth and goal inside its 10-yard line.
Pearl City, Radford and Kalani all finished 6-2 in league play, and today’s coin flip will decide the second, third and fourth seeds for the upcoming playoffs. Kaiser was 8-0 in league play and is the top seed.
Taamu’s 26-yard pass to Kierran McGhee and the ensuing point-after kick by Dominic Maneafaiga gave Pearl City a 7-0 lead in the second quarter.
Radford responded in the third on a 28-yard pass from Cody Lui-Yuen to Justin Lugo, but the Rams couldn’t complete the two-point coversion. Lui-Yuen finished the game with 187 yards on 19-for-37 passing.
