Mililani residents reported seeing a funnel cloud at about 1:47 p.m. Saturday as a band of heavy rain moved over the area between Wahiawa and Mililani.
The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory at about 2:17 p.m. after radar showed rain rates of about an inch an hour. The advisory was canceled at about 4 p.m. as the afternoon downpour ended.
The rain was seen mostly over rural areas of the Leeward Koolaus, and forecasters feared it could have caused streams and ditches to rise near Mililani.
Forecasters said conditions favorable for funnel cloud development also eased Saturday afternoon.
The National Weather Service said weak tradewinds caused afternoon clouds and showers to develop over leeward and interior sections of the islands.
The weak tradewinds area also created warm, muggy and hazy conditions over the islands.
The light winds and Kona weather conditions are expected to continue into next week.
