Victims identified in 3 separate crashes
The Medical Examiner’s office has identified the victims of three accidents.
Keoni Keawemauhili, 26, of Waianae died of multiple blunt force injuries when the car he was driving near Honokai Hale on Friday night clipped a black Mercedes sedan driven by a 40-year-old Kapolei woman, crossed over the median and broadsided a town-bound truck driven by a 50-year-old man.
Officials say speed and alcohol were factors in the crash. The woman driving the Mercedes was not injured. The man driving the truck suffered minor injuries.
Matthew John Kreber, 23, of Kailua died of head injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident Monday morning on the Kamehameha Highway onramp to the H-3 freeway in Kaneohe.
Kreber, 23, lost control of his green 2008 Triumph motorcycle, and it struck the guardrail on the highway onramp. Police said the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Speed was a factor in the crash, police said. Kreber was wearing a helmet.
An autopsy will be conducted on Alexander Leong, 49, of Waianae, who crashed his dirt bike at the Kahuku Motocross Park in Kahuku on Monday morning. Paramedics took Leong in extremely critical condition to a hospital where he later died.
