Fugitive from Michigan is caught in Aiea
A convicted sex offender and parole violator who fled Michigan was captured Monday when U.S. marshals found him hiding in a bedroom closet in Aiea.
A U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Roderick Jenkins, 50, of Detroit in an apartment on Koauka Loop.
Michigan’s Department of Corrections issued an arrest warrant for Jenkins on Feb. 13, 2008, for parole violation.
After tracking Jenkins to Hawaii and the Aiea residence, officers with the U.S. Marshals Service and U.S. Customs and Border Protection entered the apartment at about 6:15 a.m. and apprehended him.
Jenkins has convictions for armed robbery, breaking and entering with intent, and criminal sexual conduct. He was taken to the Honolulu Police Department cellblock pending a court appearance and extradition back to Michigan.
