Wilkins elected to softball hall of fame
Former University of Hawaii pitcher Brooke Wilkins is among this year’s inductees to the International Softball Federation Hall of Fame.
Wilkins is considered one of Australia’s most dominant pitchers and participated in three world championships and three Olympic Games. She helped Australia capture the bronze medal in 1996 and 2000 and the silver in 2004. She was inducted into the Softball Australia Hall of Fame in 2008.
Wilkins pitched at UH in 1994 and ’95 and earned second-team All-America honors as a freshman and made the first team the following year. Her 0.61 earned-run average in 1994 remains a school record.
