Swords women finally win on the pitch
After a 26-month span, Chaminade ended a 43-match winless streak when it defeated Holy Names 1-0 on Thursday in a Pacific West Conference match at Saint Louis High field. Kristy Iwahashi scored the game-winner in the 32nd minute for the Swords (1-14 overall, 1-10 PWC), who then held off 11 second-half shots (six on goal) by the Hawks (4-10-1, 0-8-1 PWC) to preserve the victory.

Vulcans men’s soccer gets win
Zachary Solarte netted a penalty kick in the 53rd minute as Hawaii Hilo (6-7-1, 4-6-1 PWC) shut out Academy of Art (8-5-3, 5-3-2 PWC) 1-0 on Thursday in Hilo.

Wahine finish second in golf invitational
First-round leader Sacramento State rallied in Thursday’s final round to win the Rainbow Wahine Invitational on Thursday at Leilehua Golf Course.
Host Hawaii tied for second, one shot back. It was the Wahine’s best finish since they came in second to San Jose State at the 2010 Western Athletic Conference Championship.
The Hornets closed with a round of 12-over-par 300, for a 902 total. Hawaii shot 304 and New Mexico State 302 to finish at 903.
UH freshmen Isabella Leung (75), Raquel Ek (77) and Daezsa Tomas tied for fourth at 224. Tomas played as an individual. Brianna Becker, another freshman, took 10th at 75–225. Senior Charlee Kapiioho (76–226) was 11th.
Medalist was Grand Canyon’s Charlotte Jaengkit (68–219).
