Morrissey’s best-seller due in U.S.
NEW YORK >> Pop star Morrissey’s “Autobiography” will be released in the United States Dec. 3, Penguin Random House has announced.
The 457-page book, simply titled “Autobiography,” is a best-seller in Britain, where it was released two weeks ago, and several U.S. publishers were engaged in a fierce auction for the American rights.
British reviewers have been divided over the book by the Smiths’ former frontman. Rock critic Neil McCormack gave “Autobiography” a five-star review in the Daily Telegraph. But the Independent’s literary editor, Boyd Tonkin, writes that he tired of Morrissey’s “droning narcissism” and “puerile litany of grievances.”
